Drina river house is a symbol of the town ofBajina Basta. The original house on the rock was built by a group of young boysfrom Bajina Basta, way back in 1968. They brought wooden boards and everythingelse that was needed to build it to the rock by hand. They were sunbathing infront of it, and hiding from the rain in it. From then until today, the Drinariver carried away this house seven times, but it was always rebuilt again andagain.Every year in July, thousands ofpeople from all over the world pass by this house in boats, rafts and all kindsof imaginative vessels as participants of the Drina Regatta – the biggest partyon the water. The gorgeous little house on the rock, surrounded by the emeraldgreen water of the river Drina, as if it came straight out of a fairy tale,acquired world fame when the National Geography magazine put a photo of thehouse on its cover page.
