He completed high school in Zemun,and in 1914 enrolled in the School of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb.He went to Parisin 1920, only to return there in 1925 and 1928.His work in Paris attracted muchattention. In 1930 Sava came back to Šid and devoted himself entirelyto painting at home.In 1939, he organized a soloexhibition in Belgrade presenting 410 paintings.In an Ustashasraid on 28 August 1942, Sava Šumanović was arrested, together with a large group of his fellow-townsmen, andshot in Sremska Mitrovica.
