The exceptionally deep sides increase the instrument’s physical volume and change the timbre to give a full, well rounded tone with excellent sustain while maintaining the fine articulation that defines each note.Whether you prefer fingerstyle or flatpicking techniques, the Sangamon delivers excellent sound project and rich overtones. All models have a “voiced” Engelmann spruce top. Engelmann produces a very smooth and mellow tone and Levinson Voicing brings out the best of this highly desirable top wood. On the LS-33, the creamy color of Engelmann enhances the natural beauty of the African ovangkol and enhances the broad tonal spectrum and lively treble response.
